Download the ubuntu latest live desktop iso and write to the flash drive with any burn image tool, in ubuntu use the
(startup disk creator), from the laptop bios boot menu select the first boot device for your usb flash drive.
If you install the windows in same hard disk first install the windows in UEFI enabled.
All you need is a 200MB partition in the beginning of disk EFI System Partition (ESP), windows as well
grub-efi-amd64 keep it is files in this folder.
If it is not dual boot then create this partition with these attributes:
1. Mount point: /boot/efi (remark: no need to set this mount point when using the manual
partitioning, the Ubuntu installer will detect it automatically)
2. Size: minimum 100Mib. 200MiB recommended.
3. Type: FAT32
4. Other: needs a "boot" flag
In the "allocate drive space" window select the "something else" for the ubuntu installation and for grub
installation select the partition where your want to install the ubuntu, in the bottom of this windows.
